Frequently asked questions
The questions international buyers ask most often — MOQ, payment, lead times, authenticity.
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
MOQ is listed on each product page. It varies by category — for example 5 Thangka paintings, 20 singing bowls, 50 Pashmina shawls, 100 Lokta paper journals. For first-time buyers we can often start lower on mixed-container orders. Ask us.
Which Incoterms do you work with?
Most of our exports ship FOB Kathmandu or EXW Kathmandu. For regular buyers we also quote CIF to major ports (Rotterdam, New York, Sydney, Bangkok, Taipei). DDP is available on a case-by-case basis.
What payment terms are standard?
30% advance on confirmed PO, 70% against scanned bill of lading (or 70% on shipment for repeat buyers). International TT through Himalayan Bank Nepal. For large first orders we can route through an Irrevocable LC.
How long is the typical lead time?
Stock items ship in 10–14 days. Custom Pashmina and singing-bowl orders 21–35 days. Commissioned Thangka paintings 90–120 days — each is a single artist, not factory production.
Do you ship samples?
Yes. Sample charges depend on the product; shipping is at cost via DHL or FedEx. Sample cost is refunded against the first bulk PO in most cases.
How do you guarantee authenticity of Pashmina and singing bowls?
Every Pashmina ships with a Chyangra Pashmina certificate (issued by the Nepal Pashmina Industries Association) stating fibre content and micron count. Singing bowls ship with a tuning certificate signed by the forging master and a seven-metal alloy attestation from our workshop partners.
Can you handle private labeling / custom branding?
Yes. Woven labels, hang-tags, debossed leather patches, custom packaging inserts, and print-on-demand tissue paper. Minimums apply — typically 500 units per SKU for custom tags.
What export documentation do you provide?
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin (FNCCI), certificate of authenticity (per product category), phytosanitary certificate where relevant, and the HS code pre-classified for your destination country. We work with a licensed customs broker in Kathmandu.
